The Deepest Healing Often Happens When You Finally Address the Energetic Layer

The Deepest Healing Often Happens When You Finally Address the Energetic Layer

When a patient walks into my office, I don’t just assess labs and symptoms.

I look at the full picture—physical, emotional, and energetic.

That’s why I use the acronym DELIGHTS when working through complex cases. Each letter stands for a core area of health:

D – Diet & Digestive Health
E – Emotional & Energetic Well-being
L
– Lifestyle
I – Immunity & Infection
G – Genetics & Family History
H – Hormones
T – Toxins
S – Structure

And of all these?

The one that’s most often overlooked, but most transformative, is the “E.”

I’ve Spent 13+ Years as a Naturopathic Doctor and Empath Teacher—The Deepest Healing Often Happens When You Finally Address the Energetic Layer

I’ve found that emotional and energetic well-being is often the missing piece in a person’s healing journey, especially when it comes to anxiety, depression, and trauma. These are often treated strictly through talk therapy or medication, but in my experience, true healing goes deeper.

Many of my patients come to me after trying “everything,” still feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from themselves. That’s because unresolved emotions and energetic imprints don’t just disappear—they lodge in the body and the energetic field. If left unaddressed, they continue to dysregulate the nervous system and disrupt physical and mental healing.

Once we begin working at the energetic level, that’s when things start to shift. Clients often describe feeling like something heavy finally lifted, even if they can’t explain it logically. This layer, though invisible, is where lasting transformation often begins.

Emotional & Energetic Well-being

In conventional care, this is often ignored. And many holistic doctors tend to overlook it as well, or they don’t devote the attention it requires.

In my practice and in my personal experience, it’s often where the deepest shifts occur.

  • Our emotions live in the body.

  • Our energy field holds memory.

  • Our nervous system records everything.

And if we don’t tend to that, it builds. It spills. And eventually, it speaks through symptoms.

I learned this firsthand.

Despite years of talk therapy and spiritual work, I was still holding deep, unprocessed emotional pain. A powerful moment during a group healing workshop shattered my illusion that I was “done” healing. I collapsed in tears. My body held more than I realized. (I recently wrote about this on LinkedIn.)

It was the beginning of a new chapter.

One where I studied Qi Gong, learned to clear emotional residue, and began the lifelong process of reclaiming safety, trust, and wholeness through energetic work.

In my own healing, and in my work with others, I’ve seen what happens when we address this energetic layer:

  • Long-standing symptoms begin to shift

  • Triggers lose their charge

  • People feel more like themselves again

This is especially important for empaths and highly sensitive people, who tend to take on more energy from others and their environments.

What Does It Mean to Address the Energetic Layer in Healing?

Addressing the energetic layer means recognizing that your body doesn’t just store physical tension, it also holds emotional imprints, past trauma, and the residue of everyday stress.

It means working beyond talk therapy and lab results to restore flow and regulation to your nervous system and energy field. This might look like:

When we begin to clear this invisible buildup, it’s not just symptoms that improve. People often report feeling lighter, clearer, more present, and more like themselves again.

That energetic residue, if left unprocessed, can weigh heavily on the body and nervous system, slowing down progress and complicating healing.

When the energetic layer is properly addressed, healing becomes less about “fixing” and more about reconnection with the body.

Because healing isn’t just physical.

It’s emotional. It’s energetic. It’s embodied.

And if you’ve been doing “everything right” but something still feels off…

Start with the “E.”

What does that look like?
